Manage service items, packages, and content blocks

Maintain the catalog proposals draw from: service items with pricing and deliverables, reusable content blocks, and proposal templates.

Proposals are assembled from three catalogs: service items, content blocks, and templates. Keeping them current is what makes a proposal a ten-minute job. This article covers all three.

Service items

  1. Go to Sales, then Service items, and click New.
  2. Enter the name, description, price, and billing period (one-time or monthly). Set the billing model: standard fixed price or hourly with a tiered rate that follows the brand's rate card.
  3. List the deliverables. They render as the scope table on the proposal and on the agreement.
  4. Optionally set the internal cost. Admins see it on the Margin page under Reports & insights; it is never shown to prospects.
  5. Assign the item to the brands that sell it and save.

Use Hygiene on the Service items page to find items missing prices, descriptions, or brand assignments.

Packages on a proposal

When you include an item on a proposal it becomes a package: the item's price and deliverables copied in, with an optional custom price or deliverables override for that deal. Overrides never change the catalog.

Content blocks

  1. Go to Sales, then Content blocks (admins only).
  2. Create blocks such as About us, Process, or Testimonials with rich content. Mark whether a block is enabled by default on new proposals and which brands use it.
  3. On each proposal the salesperson toggles blocks on or off and can edit the copy for that proposal only.

Templates

  1. Open a proposal whose setup you want to reuse and click Save as template.
  2. Go to Sales, then Proposals, then Templates to see the gallery.
  3. Start a new proposal from a template; the client details are blank, the packages, terms, and blocks come pre-filled.

What to check

  • A custom price can go at most 40% below list. Larger discounts require an admin.
  • The Margin page ranks items and active deals by margin so under-priced work floats to the top. Green is 50% or better, amber 25% to 50%, red below 25%.
  • Hourly items on a drawdown retainer proposal use the brand's retainer defaults from Settings, then Brands.

Questions

Who sees an item's internal cost?

Admins only. Cost feeds the Margin page and never appears on a proposal.

Can I import a catalog?

Yes. Sales, then Service items, then Import accepts a CSV, previews it, and can revert a batch afterwards.

What is a proposal template?

A client-less proposal saved as a playbook. Save as template from any proposal; start new ones from the gallery under Proposals, then Templates.
