Import from your previous CRM, time tracker, or project tool

Use the migration hub to bring companies, contacts, deals, clients, projects, time, and invoices from HubSpot, Harvest, Toggl, Asana, and more.

The migration hub is one door for moving history into Verbial. Every import runs Source, Mapping, Preview, Run, and can be rolled back afterwards. This article picks a source and runs the import. The hub is currently in beta.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings, then Migrate. Real admins only.
  2. Click the source. Pick the brand the data belongs to.
  3. For an API source, paste the credential and set the date range. For a file source, drop the export files; the gallery shows where to find each export in the tool. Upload companies before contacts before deals.
  4. Click Continue to mapping. Verbial detects each file's entity and proposes column mappings with a confidence label. Fix anything guessed wrong, map unrecognised columns to custom fields, and confirm which column identifies a duplicate.
  5. Preview. See Dry run and roll back.
  6. Run. The import writes in batches with progress. People matched by email are linked; unmatched people are listed for you to add afterwards.

How are duplicates handled?

Companies match on website domain, contacts on email, everything else on the source system's id. A match updates the existing record only where the Verbial field is empty. Records from an earlier run of the same source are always recognised, so re-running is safe.

What to check

  • Download CSV templates for every entity from Settings, then Migrate, then CSV templates, when your tool is not listed.
  • Imported contacts get a consent record naming the import as source. Map a consent column if your export has one.
  • Harvest history comes in through this hub. There is no live Harvest sync to set up.

Questions

Do I need an API key?

Only for API sources, and only for the run. Credentials are used for that import and never stored. Every source also accepts the tool's own CSV export.

Which order should I import in?

CRM first, then time tracking. Time trackers reference clients and projects, and the second import matches them to records the first created.

Is the migration hub on every plan?

Yes. It is platform-wide and currently in beta.
