Connect Claude to Verbial with a personal token

Create a personal access token and wire the Verbial MCP server into Claude Desktop, Claude Code, or claude.ai so Claude reads your data as you.

The MCP server lets Claude work with Verbial on your behalf. A token carries your identity, never extra permission, so connecting grants nothing you do not already have. This article creates the token and connects a client. The integration is currently in beta.

Steps

  1. Go to Help & records in the sidebar, then Connect Claude (Settings, then My tokens).
  2. Click Create token and give it a label such as "Claude Desktop". The secret is shown once. Copy it now.
  3. Click How to connect Claude for the setup guide. It shows the MCP server URL for your workspace.
  4. In Claude Desktop or Claude Code, add an MCP server with that URL and the token as the bearer credential. On claude.ai, add it as a custom connector; Verbial also supports the OAuth flow for clients that use it.
  5. Ask Claude something scoped to your work: "Which of my clients are over 80% of their retainer this month?"
  6. Revoke a token from the same page at any time. Tokens for archived or deactivated users stop working immediately.

What tools does Claude get?

  • Who am I, and my time entries and summary.
  • List and get clients, projects, proposals, invoices, and service items.
  • CRM: list, get, create, and update contacts, companies, and deals; list pipelines, lists, templates, and email sends; send an email; create, launch, and cancel campaigns; create workflows and set their status.
  • Team time summaries and admin time entries, for people whose role allows them.

Each tool re-runs the same scope and permission checks as the web app against the token's identity.

Admins minting for others

Settings, then API tokens, lets an admin mint a token that acts as a specific user, for example a service account. Prefer pointing people at My tokens so the secret never travels through Slack or email. Tokens cannot be minted or revoked from an impersonated session.

What to check

  • Every request is logged against the user's name in the audit log.
  • Personal tokens are separate from service tokens, which carry scopes rather than a person's identity. See Send leads with the write API.

Questions

What can Claude see?

Exactly what you can see in Verbial: your clients, projects, proposals, invoices, CRM records, and time entries within your scope. Cost, salary, and margin are never returned to any token, including an admin's.

Can Claude change data?

The tool set includes reads and a set of CRM writes such as creating contacts, companies, deals, and sending CRM email, each re-running the same permission checks as the app. Every call is logged against your name.

Is this available on every plan?

MCP is included on Growth and Scale, or through the API and Claude access add-on on Starter. The integration is currently in beta.
