Build a client report with auto-fetched metrics

Create a coverage, campaign, deliverables, or weekly report, add pieces from the coverage library, and let Verbial fetch reach and views.

Reports are built from sections, and sections hold coverage pieces, KPIs, services, team members, checklists, and action items. This article creates one and explains where the numbers come from.

Steps

  1. Go to Reports & insights, then Reports, and click Create report.
  2. Choose Blank report or From template, then the type: Coverage, Campaign, or Deliverables. Weekly decks have their own builder; onboarding decks are currently in beta.
  3. Pick the client and brand, set the title and period, and create.
  4. Add sections. In a coverage section, paste URLs into Quick add or pick from the Coverage library. Verbial fetches the headline, image, outlet, and metrics.
  5. Click any metric on a card to correct it in place. Hover a card and use + metric to add one the platform does not expose.
  6. Click Refresh metrics in the header to re-fetch every estimate.
  7. Set the status to Ready when done. Sharing is covered in Share reports and the client portal.

Where the numbers come from

TypeAuto-fetchedSource
ArticleReach (outlet monthly traffic), Domain Authority, estimated viewsAhrefs
YouTubeViews, likes, commentsYouTube Data API
XImpressions, likes, replies, reposts, audienceX API, or a screenshot read when no key
Reddit, BlueskyUpvotes or likes, comments, reposts, community sizePublic data
TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, ThreadsWhat each exposes publiclyPublic data, else manual

AVE and EMV are always calculated from the raw numbers using the multipliers under Settings, then Reporting. Editing likes or impressions recomputes engagement rate and EMV at once.

Weekly decks

Weekly decks read the client's KPI definitions. A KPI with the Ahrefs or YouTube provider fetches its actual when the deck is created; a manual KPI is left blank for the account manager. Team members, services, and workflow steps can sync from the system.

What to check

  • The Coverage library under Reports & insights holds every piece across reports. A metric edited on a piece updates everywhere it appears.
  • Ahrefs calls consume your Ahrefs API credits. Settings, then Platform health, shows whether each provider is configured and responding.
  • Report blocks and templates under Reports, then Templates, let you standardise sections per service.

Questions

Which metrics are fetched automatically?

Articles get outlet traffic and Domain Authority from Ahrefs, with estimated views modelled from that. YouTube returns views, likes, and comments. X, Reddit, Bluesky, and TikTok return what each exposes. Everything else can be typed in.

Will a refresh overwrite my manual numbers?

No. Values you type are tagged manual and are never overwritten by the nightly refresh or the Refresh metrics button. Estimates are tagged est and do refresh.

What is a weekly KPI with a provider?

A KPI definition on the client that pulls its actual from Ahrefs or YouTube each time a weekly deck is created, so the account manager does not type it.
